Don't you just love work?!

Well I have been back to work for over a month. The first week was bad. I missed Will so much, I would come home in tears. That's when I decided to only work part time.

We are a small personal training studio, brand new and let me just tell you business is SLOW! I have one client so far. So you can imagine how my days go. We have been doing a lot of marketing, i.e. postcards, door hangers, letters, take ones, going to various neighborhood events. You get the idea.

But for some reason, it has been really hard to get people in the door. So what do you think? Do you think the economy has something to do with this? Do people not want to spend extra money on themselves? Now let me tell you this, if you have never sought out a personal trainer, it is a specialty service. So either you know how much it cost or you are in total sticker shock. We only do 24-60 sessions and that is so that people obviously stay committed to their health. The cheapest package is $1700. I know I certainly could not afford it. But where we are located, they definitely can.

If you have any marketing ideas that I have not thought of, or any advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

Have a great Monday. You know what I am doing. Not training.

Hmm I pay for my trainer but not nearly what your company is charging.

Anyway, I think around here [Atlanta] the bigger gyms usually win out. We have LA Fitness locations and Crunch locations everywhere you turn. I personally belong to LA Fitness because it is in walking distance of my apartment.

Have you thought about an open house? You know serve wine, light food, mingle, offer a special deal?

I would go to something like that.

I admire anyone who can take on personal training. There just some things about my body that I'm afraid to know that I'm doing WRONG. Ignorance is bliss;-)

As far as marketing goes....CONFIDENCE is always something that seems attractive- regardless of what you're selling:-)

Best of luck to you!!

hoping that some of your marketing pays off soon!
