Terrific Two Graduation Celebration!

Surprisingly, I did not cry until Will and I watched his class dvd the next day. It showed pictures from the beginning to the end of the year, and what a transformation my little dude has made! I have to say he is quite the talker in his class which he wasn't before. I could not be more proud of him.

Now on to summer activities. We have signed up for a swimming class, going to take a half day camp class, plenty of My Gym free plays and of course swimming!

Just Because . . .

To my BESTEST friend, my lover, my confidant, my jokester, and to the FATHER of my children, I love you MORE than air. I know you read our little corner of the world sometimes and I just wanted to let you know you are our world. Thank you for all you do, we appreciate you more than words can say.

A Vacation to Remember . . .

My little guy all bundled up after a night swim in the ocean. This definitely was one of the best vacations that we have had, all because Will enjoyed every minute of it. He is our little aquarious baby forever.

Can't wait to to see what the Outer Banks have in store for us in a couple months!

hmm...where did that post go?

Yesterday I wrote a very lengthy post which is partly my fault for trying to play catch up on our life! But somehow it never posted. I could have sworn that I saw it up on my page and then today...nada. Maybe I hit delete by accident, bummer.

I was actually posting about Will and his potty training which could not have gone smoother. I wanted to say thank you for all the amazing advice that I have received over the last couple of months which helped. But I wanted to also tell all the mommy's out there that are entering this world of potty training, do not compare your child to others. They are completely different and every child is ready at a different time. We made several attempts even when I was fully armed and ready with knowledge but Will was not ready. All it took for him was being in the warm sun and running around our beach condo naked. One day he just ran to the potty. Once we got back from Florida we started the training again and at the end of day one, he had it. He has been wearing big boy underoo's since then. We have had one accident but we are now at week 3, so I take that as a blessing. He got it.

I know they say you should start early, which we did. He has always used the potty before bath time and sometimes just randomly since he turned two. There is a method for everyone and I truly believe that you have to wait tell they are ready or you will drive yourself crazy cleaning up poop and pee all over your house. I read so many stories and blogs saying day 1 is hell, day 2 might be the same but by day 3 they start getting it. They also said there would be accidents. Well, I am here to say, day 1 was not hell, in fact Will pooped on the potty at the end of the day and it was a celebration!

I know you may want to get that child out of diapers but let them show you sign of readiness instead of the other way around. I was ready for Will to be out of diapers by age 2 but he clearly was not ready. Don't stress, and never let other moms conversations and comparisons of potty training get you down. Stick to what is best for your little one and potty training will be a breeze!

My sweet Will, I am so proud of you and cannot believe how fast you have grown! You love picking out which Thomas underoos you will wear each day. Today you even pronounced your #2 looking like a log. LOL! Daddy said, "That's my boy!" Boys will be boys I say. I love you Will, more than air.

Potty Training with a little of this and that . .

I have been sick lately and thought I got better when we went on vacation but that did not happen. The antibiotics were not strong enough. So my sinus infection has lingered on for a while now with allergies in full bloom. I just love being pregnant at this time of year...ugh! Kidding. Totally happy. Just wish that I felt better. I am on a stronger antibiotic, so I hope this helps.

Will is going to be graduating from his 2's class in preschool this month. Not gonna lie, I will probably cry. All those hormones and my little baby, now big boy singing along with his class, will bring on the water works. He is already enrolled for next year and he definitely loves his school. He has made a lot of great friends and has learned and grown so much!

I am already on a mission to try and find some fun activities for him to do this summer. I have found a soccertot class that I know he will love along with a swim class for my adventurous little guy. I am looking for a music or art class for him but there is not a lot offered for 3 year olds. We might join a pool that is a neighborhood over, unfortunately our little neighborhood doesn't have one. It is really expensive, so I am pondering that one because I am not sure how much we will use it. We are also planning one more vacation before #2 comes which I think will be in NC. I have gone to the Outer Banks since I was a kid and I really want to continue a tradition like this for Will.

Now on to the potty training. I used to worry so much about this. I would compare Will to other kids, like hello, why is my kid not getting it yet and others are?! I think I started trying last summer, thinking Will would catch on but he wanted nothing to do with it. Then I started it up again in the fall hoping to get Will ahead of the game in his preschool class. No go. Right around his birthday in January, I thought I have to get this down before he turns 3! I don't want my 3 year old pooping in diapers anymore! So I reached out to all my bloggy friends and even wrote a few posts about it. I followed all the steps, even read books and watched dvds. I thought for sure, he would get it. Day 1 in sucked and he didn't get it. He pooped everywhere except the potty, he hid when he peed. It was awful! Mind you I have put him on the potty since last summer almost everyday to get him used to it. Some days he would pee on it and others no. But he would always do it before bath time. I was discouraged because I thought for sure he was ready this time. I decided not to stress myself out, or compare Will or my training tactics to anyone. It wasn't fair to him or my sanity.

When we went to Florida in April, I told myself that when we come back, I will re-focus this whole potty training thing and not put too much stress on Will. Well, all it took was the beach for Will to tell me he was ready. It seems when you are in warm weather and running around naked in your condo half the time, you will know when to go. I tell you, it was like it just clicked for him. He would run to the bathroom and just pee. I wouldn't ask him if he had to go or put pressure on him, I just wanted him to do it on his own. So that is the same approach that I took when we got home from vacation. First day, I did put him in a pull up, which he was fine with until he pooped in it. I told myself, its okay, he can do it. By 3:00 that afternoon he was in big boy underoo's and going on the potty like a champ! Pooping was definitely scary at first and he wanted to hide under the dining room table and sit on his potty and do his business, which I let him. But, he did it! I have to tell you, I cried the first time he pooped on the potty! Lew, just laughed at me. Since the first day, we have only had one accident and we are going on week 3!

So, for all you mommy's out there that are going through this process or thinking about this process. Don't do it until your CHILD is ready. You might be ready to get the kid out of diapers but they need to be physically and emotionally ready. Otherwise, there will be tons of accidents and you will get totally frustrated! Plus, it is so much more rewarding when they recognize that they want to start. You can do it. Don't compare yourself or your child to anyone because everyone is different.

To my sweet Will, you have become such a big boy and I love you always, more than air.

Beach Picture Over load ! ! !

Hope you enjoyed some of the beach pictures. We had such an amazing time! There are still more to post but this is a start. I think we took over 600 pictures! We are hoping to make it back to the beach this summer but more like NC.

In other news, baby #2 is doing great and sounding beautiful! Hearing the heart beat is music to my ears and to Will's it sounds like a choo choo train, go figure. The big reveal ultrasound is on June 6th at 8am and I cannot wait! Either way, I am just happy to have a healthy baby!

Happy weekend friends!

Back . . .

I know. I have been such a slacker lately with blogging. We were sick for a week, then we went to Florida, and now I am just trying to get us back into a schedule!

I am going to post some pictures of the vacation but there are so many to go through! Will loved the beach and would just jump right in the water without us. We are definitely going to be doing some swimming lessons this summer.

Will is officially potty trained and I could not be happier! He started to show more interest in when we were in Florida and as soon as we got back, we jumped into it. I am so proud of him because he is just doing an amazing job.

Pregnancy is going great, I go for a check up tomorrow and cannot wait to see how this little one is growing. Will likes to look into my belly button for the baby, total cuteness!

I promise, pictures soon!
