He Was So Excited . . .

The pictures are totally out of order...let's just go with it though.

Santa left Will mini little trains...

Thomas Shake Shake Bridge, Lightening McQueen Big Boy Bike and Helmet!

Lovin' his new bike!

Thomas Match game left in his stocking...

Will's Santa Loot...and special James, the Christmas train

All my holiday presents! Willsey... you are too cute!

Santa just came!

We had a great Christmas and believe it or not but I took our tree down yesterday. It has been up since Thanksgiving! I just needed to make room for all the new toys and start organizing all the old ones.
I ended up having to take out our little ikea tree because Will was not ready for the tree to be taken down. I think this tree might be up tell next Christmas! I guess I can decorate it for each holiday!

Sleepy Bubsy . . .

Looks like the holidays are tuckering him out also! He asked for his blankets and then fell asleep watching Dino Dan. He can name most of the dinosaurs which is pretty impressive, so thanks Dino Dan for teaching my little bubsy about dinos and putting him to sleep! haha.

She is . . . I'm not.

Not to be a debbie downer on this last Monday before Christmas but I am going to be one for a little bit.

Just talked to my sister in law yesterday and she is pregnant. For the 6th time. Did I mention that she had her tubes tied after her 5th child? Yep.

Don't get me wrong, totally happy for her, who wouldn't be. Obviously, God wanted her to be a mom of one more child.

But it just makes me wonder, why not us? Don't we deserve another gift from God?

The sad thing to me with this news is that, Lew actually seemed a bit sad. Like, why does she need another kid, when all we want is just one more? He doesn't think she should be having another child but evidently God has other plans for her. She is blessed.

I thought this would be the month for some reason. But over the weekend I could feel all the signs of my period coming on. We all know them. It hasn't come yet but it is supposed to arrive on Christmas. Great. Not the particular gift that I was looking for. I try to think back when I got pregnant with Will but I really can't remember having any pregnancy signs. Maybe I was too busy working 10 hour days to notice.

Thanks for hearing me out. Glad my sister in law doesn't read this because I would feel really bad.

thanks and inspiration . . .

First off, I just wanted to say thanks to so many of you that left really kind and heart felt comments on my last post. I definitely took it all in and am trying to stay positive, as my Pape would say, "Keep your eye on the prize." I know everything will happen in do time and I have to really sink that in to my heart that is so desperately wanting another little one.

One of my great bloggy friend's inspired me to really dive right into the Christmas spirit and just stay strong. She also inspired me to share some Christmas ornaments that mean so much to my family. Thanks Lindsay!

This is the newest to the collection, not a great pic sorry! But can you guess who it belongs to?

Whenever we go some where we always try and pick up something from that location. When we were in Door County, Wisconsin this summer we went to a little shop that makes hand made eggs. It was so cool and unique that I wanted everything in that shop! But this ornament stuck out because it is all the little towns in Door County. I wish we lived closer because we would definitely make this our summer retreat, it was such an amazing vacation!

Do you know what it is? It's a cabbage patch! I think my mom got this for me when I was about 5 0r 6 and it has always been the ornament I treasure the most. Every Christmas when we would decorate the tree, that was always the first one I would put on. She is the gem of my Christmas tree for sure!

Our retro Christmas ball is from Lew's grandfather who had it on his tree in the 40's! I just love the character it adds to the tree and all the memories it has seen and created.
So do you have any special ornaments that you have kept over the years?

the truth . .

It's time to be honest.

Honest to you. But mostly honest to myself.

I am disappointed.

I am disappointed that a 2nd baby is not coming as easy as I thought it would.

I see friends getting pregnant, bloggy friends getting pregnant, and I feel sad. High school FB friends talking about being pregnant. Sometimes I just want to say, ENOUGH! Don't get me wrong, I am happy for all of them, very happy.

But what about us?

Why is it not happening?

It has been 7 months. One of my good friend's told me not to worry it took her a couple months to conceive her daughter but I am still sad. Disappointed...did I mention that already?

I put on a happy face each month when my period comes but, inside I wish there were a little one growing.

Today when I dropped Will off at school I got back in my car and started crying. Everyone in his class has a sibling and here we are still trying to get pregnant. Sometimes it just doesn't seem fair.

I haven't even told my sisters that we have been trying this long because, I just don't want to hear it.

I just hope and pray that maybe this Christmas God will bless us.

Christmas 2008 . .Kicking it Old Skool !

This morning I felt like reminiscing holidays past. I do that often. I am weird like that. But I happen to stumble along pictures of a Christmas party that we went to in 2008 when my sweet little bubsy was just 11 months old! Eek!

Where has the time gone?

Willsey was not too happy and once he saw the man in red he quickly closed his eyes and was reaching out to Lew and myself. Our little bubsy was not a fan at all.

Last year we went to the mall and saw Santa with cousin Lilly and unfortunately he had the same reaction while Lilly was all smiles, telling Santa what she wanted for Christmas.

This year I decided we were not going to go because every picture Willsey has seen of Santa, he has quickly hid behind me and started saying, "i love you mommy" over and over. The poor guy thinks I am going to leave him with Santa.

I am actually kind of okay with it because I tend to have a little OCD around this time of year and all those kids sitting on Santa, who knows what germs are being spread around.

He won't even let me put these reindeer ears on now, they are so cute though!

One of my favorite pictures! I just loves these guys so much! It must be those blue eyes.

Happy Sunday friends...

grateful . . .

Holidays always make me so grateful for what I have even if I don't have want I really want. Like special family members that were taken from us too soon.

I think when experiences like this happen to you, you just become more grateful for every little thing.

Like kisses from you little bubsy aka...my mommy's boy, which I am more than okay with.

Making gingerbread houses on Thanksgiving, with all the special men in your life, Lew, Willsey and my Pape. Couldn't be better.

And my little Willsey snuggling on the back of the couch with his blankets just because he can.

Also, having ordered holiday cards ahead of the game. Almost done shopping for my family and friends with a few other gifts to purchase. The last 9 years have been up and down, mostly because the loss of my mom, she was the glue, the heart and the soul of our family without her Christmas has been feeling just like another day.
But this year I am feeling a bit more grateful and less sad, more than I have in the last 9, and I think it has something to do with the sweet boys in my life.
Today I am grateful.

The Holiday Card . . .

I don't know about you, but right before we hit Thanksgiving, I am thinking about the holiday cards. We usually don't do posed family snap shots only because we've never been able to capture it. So I usually pull something from family vacations or funny pictures that we have captured of Willsey over the course of the year.

We just so happen to use the Christmas photo cards at Shutterfly. They have such a great variety of cards, whether you want contemporary or more traditional. I just so happen to have found a card that was created by the American Lung Association which means so much to me in many ways. As you all know my mom died of lung cancer and this would be the perfect way to give back and honor her as well.
courtesy of Shutterfly

There were 8 different cards in the Lung Association section to pick from, but this one was definitely my favorite. I always go for the bright, yet simple design, this best describes us as a family. I like this card because I don't have to choose just one photo and with Willsey there are endless options to choose from!

I have tried to do a couple posed pictures of Willsey in different outfits but lately he has not been in the mood. What's new there. I find, like I said above that most of the pictures that turn out great are the ones that are just snapped randomly. Out of the 1000's of pictures I have taken this year, I know I will be able to find a couple that are just perfect for this year's holiday card from Shutterfly.

So go check out Shutterfly for your holiday card, I am sure there is one that will suit your family as well!

Many Thanks to Shutterfly for giving me 50 free holiday cards which definitely makes my life easier this time of year!

*** shutterfly is offering 50 free holiday cards to bloggers, so go check them out. Thanks Brandi! What are you waiting for?! They have so much to offer like, holiday cards, calendars, or even their personalized mugs!

Thankful . . .

I am thankful for my wonderful husband, Lew even when I have to remind him to put his dish in the dishwasher...it's kind of our thing. I am thankful he laughs with my silliness and goofiness, because I am both of those. Love you Lewcious!

I am thankful for my sweet, train loving Willsey. Without him I don't know really who I would be. That sounds strange, but this little guy really has defined my life and made me thankful for everyday. He is my little side kick and I love him so. Tomorrow he and I are going to venture out for black friday, that's how tight we are. haha..

I am thankful for my family, my Pape, my sisters and my brother. Although we live in different states, I could not pick a better family for me. We are fit nicely with each other. Very thankful that my Pape is coming today for Thanksgiving.

Lastly. I am thankful my mom. I have realized lately when I look at pictures that I am really beginning to look more and more like her, the older I get. Which is not a bad thing because she was beautiful. I find myself saying things that she said, like supper and pop. I even notice myself doing things like she did, twirling her hair at her neck, sometimes I stop myself because it is so weird. When Willsey and I snuggle on the couch I sometimes imagine that it is my mom and I because, we used to do that. She would scratch my arm or even brush my hair. We even did this tell the day that she passed.

So. I am very thankful that I am turning into my mom. There is no better mom to turn in to.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Such a Big Boy ! ! !

Willsey decided he wanted to try the big potty without his potty seat...such a cutie!

He looks like he is doing some kind of gymnastics move!

Can we say this kid needs a haircut? We are letting it grow out again but he needs a major trim which he hates to have done.
Yeah Willsey! Such a big boy.

What's Been Happening . . .

A lot. That's why there has been a lack of blogging on my part. Plus, sometimes I am in the mood and other times I am not. Still reading blogs, but everyone needs a little break from it every once in a while. Keeps things fresh.

  • We have been doing a lot of baking, which I should take some pictures of but I always forget. I have to man the mixer as Willsey is more than likely chomping up whatever is in there. Yes. He gets to lick the beaters/paddle because you only live once and I got to lick the wooden spoon when I was a kid.
  • He is doing so well as school and talking up a storm. It's so cool to actually have conversations with him! The other night we were driving home from one of my training sessions and he said, "Look mommy, banana moon!" I mean that is just too cute for words. We just got his class picture and pictures and they are so funny! All the kids look like they were crying or they were totally bored. Willsey, he had his chin up in the air, not looking at the camera, totally hilarious!
  • Still working on the second baby. We have been trying since May. Not getting disappointed yet because Lew works extremely long hours and baby making time sometimes takes the back burner to sleep. But hopefully it will happen soon. We would love for Willsey to have a sibling.
  • I am doing Thanksgiving this year! It will only be for us and my Pape (dad) but that is even better. I have only cooked a turkey one other time so, I am totally excited to test out my cooking skills on my boys. Hopefully I don't serve them raw turkey! Ha! I am more of a baker than a cook. Do you have any exciting Thanksgiving day plans?
  • Started Christmas shopping for friends, I figured I can get some of it out of the way now. I plan on going out on black friday, because you really do get some awesome deals. I am kind of hoping some Thomas the Train things will be on sale. Thomas is expensive! Every time we go to Target Willsey gets a train. I have to stop the madness!
  • I had a great birthday and got some wonderful gifts. My Pape sent me almost 4lbs of Godiva chocolate! I do have a major sweet tooth and I have been trying to just have one a day. Not so easy my friends.
  • Willsey has another cold. Second one this fall. I know kids will get colds and pick up more germs when they are in school but this is ridiculous. They sing a song at the end of school which is totally cute but then they kiss their neighbor, which I frankly don't want Willsey doing anymore. I told Lew, and he just laughed at me. But I really feel like he is getting sick from it. I thought about emailing his teacher, since I do know her from the gym that I managed but I don't know. What do you think, going to far?

Well...I am off. I have to go and work on some programs for clients.

Happy Birthday....

Yes. I am going to toot my own horn. It's my birthday!

I feel very special and honored to have been born on Veteran's Day. To celebrate and share this day with all of our veterans.

My husband, my dad, my father in law. To all who have served and are currently watching over our country. Thank you.

This day is special in so many ways.

Now I am off to celebrate with my boys.

This Little Stinker . . .

No. Not this little stinker that we met at the farm. He definitely had a stink to him for sure!

But this one. My little stinker. Literally.
Yesterday we were out playing in the gorgeous fall weather when Bubsy came over to me and said, "I gotta poop."

I asked him if he wanted to go on the potty, his response, "Nope."

The little stinker then proceeded to squat next to me, grunt, and when asked what he was doing, "I pooping mommy." Lovely.

Then for some private time he headed over to his leaf pile and chilled for a bit in there. I am sure one day he will hate me talking about this but it is just too funny not to share.

When he seemed to be all done I said, "Can I change your diaper?"

Willsey's response, "Nope, all finished!"

Hall-O-tired

I know. Creative title. You can tell by the first picture how exhausted this kid was.

He had no nap and but had tons of energy in the beginning walking around the neighborhood. But after 15 houses and lots of stairs, this Bubsy was pooped. He even stopped on a couple neighbors steps after he got his candy and said, "Willsey tired, he need a rest." Then he would lay down on their stairs. Too funny!

Thanks Willsey for making this a great Halloween. Can't wait to see what you want to be next year my little comedian!

The first kid who doesn't want candy . . .

A couple weeks ago I was so gung ho and got Bubsy's Halloween costume at Old Navy. I love their costumes because they are warm and they are good quality.

Well, as you know I got him a shark costume. HE REFUSES to wear it. We haven't even tried it on my friends. Lew was in love with the costume, I personally wanted him to be the green dragon. Bubsy pretty much had no say and really still to this day after endless Halloween shows and trick or treating at school, has no clue what this is all about.

So what is he going to be you ask? A skeleton. They are pj's that I had to order online from Amazon because you could not find them anywhere in his size. I went on a wild goose chase all over town looking!! How original. Oh well. At least next year I know he will be a little more into it and want to pick out his own.

I am off to go and bake some spooky goodness with my....skeleton.

It's time . . .

to tell you the happenings of a little bubsy.

I thought I would actually do a post that related to the title of my blog, well, bubsy's blog.

  • Since his tube and adenoid surgery this little guy is such a talker! Lew and I are so surprised of by the conversations we are now having with a 2 year old.
  • His favorite saying, "oh, dear!" It's hilarious folks! For instance, "Oh, dear! Percy is stuck on tracks, mama!" And yes, he does say it with much enthusiasm. Too funny.
  • Today he put his hand in the dishwasher and was talking to it as if it were a person, "Okay hand, I help you get un-stuck!" He was tugging on it and pretending it was stuck, this kiddo is such a comedian, I tell you.
  • When he gets excited he says, "Oh boy, oh boy!" over and over.
  • He is most well mannered 2 year old around, always saying, please, thank you, excuse me and even sorry if he has done something wrong. Such a sweetie!
  • Having been on antibiotics for practically the whole year from all the ear infections, his taste buds have really been affected. Yes. He is two and a lot of two year olds are picky, but this little bubsy is extra picky. Some of his top ten foods are...Blueberries, bananas, chex mix, popcorn, cheese, rice, pasta with cheese, french fries, chocolate milk(horizon organic-very good!) and baked bbq chips. Believe me, I try and try to get creative but this kid is just like his mama, we don't like weird textures. Got any creative ideas you want to share? I would love to hear!
  • He loves, loves preschool! This first drop off was a tearful one but each one got better and better. Now he is so excited to go and play with his friends. Last week was picture day and of course I had to rock him in his Gap plaid pants and collared shirt. Such a cutie! Can't wait to see how those turn out.
  • With Halloween coming up this weekend, we have been really trying to prepare bubsy with all the excitement and get him into the holiday. But to tell you the truth, he seems totally disinterested. I got him a shark costume, which I love all their costumes, anyway, he refuses to put it on. So, I got a back up, skeleton pj's that glow in the dark. At least I know he will wear that.
  • He has a new friend in the neighborhood that he loves to play with and they have such a good time digging and jumping in the leaves together, although they don't say much to each other. Will the dare devil that he is will run up a hill and pretend to fall down and be all dramatic and say, "Need help, hand, help Willsey." Guess you have to be there for that one.
  • Backward pj's have been a success. We don't do it every night but he seems to kind of forget about it and not pull his pj's and diaper off.
  • As for potty training, he has been doing really well. I am not totally hardcore right now but he definitely knows when he has to go potty. Baby steps.

Thanks for listening to our bubsy's happenings!

Through His Mommy's Eyes . . .

he sees...

Someone who loves him more than air.

Someone who will play trains with him until he gets bored, which usually won't happen.

Someone who will ride bikes around the house with him.

Someone who plays catch with him.

Someone who will play diggers in the dirt with him.

Someone who will jump in the leaves and take tons of pictures of her happy boy.

Someone who plays endless games of chase and mommy monster.

Someone who sings songs in the car just to make him laugh.

Someone who kisses ouchies and makes them all better.

Someone who would go the end of the world and back for him.

Someone who loves him more than air.

Please go check out a bloggy friend of mine, Clare. This post was inspired by hers.

Falling For Fall . .Part 2

I am so in love with this season! The leaves changing colors everyday, pumpkins, Halloween, my birthday, Thanksgiving, I just love it all.

And I love these little babies...candy corn! Yummy! My sister, Shannon and I call it candy crack because we can never stop with one bag! I remember after Halloween was over and People's, now known as CVS would discount candy corn down to nothing! I think one year my mom got it for like 10 cents a bag! I will admit the girls in my family have a little problem with candy corn.

So, it was perfect and fate that I would make this next crafty project that I found on a family magazine.

Not only was it easy to do but it was yummy as well! I love a project where I can be productive and snack along the way!

All in all I think I used 3 bags of candy corn, with a few missing from bubsy and myself. If I make it again I think I will get the 14'' round instead of the 12''.

My next fall project, I am on a mission to find a great recipe for pumpkin spice cupcakes!

I just love this time of year! It's me.

He's Expecting Rain . . .

I never thought I would stick a half naked picture of Willsey on the blog and I am sure in the future he won't be to happy but it does have a purpose.

You see, my little bubsy is in the process of potty training. I tried to get serious a couple months ago but then just decided he would let me know when he really was ready. Well. We have gotten to that point.

At night before bed I try and get him to go potty hoping that he will not take off his diaper but he usually ends up like the picture above. I need to try and nip the whole diaper taking off at night in the bud because he is wetting himself and his bed and sometimes the floor! I have put his potty in his room hoping this would help if he felt like he had to go and its not really working. Maybe I should try a pull up at night. Not sure. Any ideas?

For now I will laugh and smile when I see my little bubsy sleeping in his rain boots, waiting for the rain.
