life with boys . . . oh boy !

I am coming to the conclusion and realization that my life is going to be filled with all things boy. The good and the bad.

The Good ...

Will loves to snuggle. Loves to watch Olivia with me, the one show I can really stand, oh and Peppa Pig. Definitely a mama's boy, which I totally heart. Is a big helper. Has shown an infatuation with babies lately, thank goodness. I think he will make a great big brother. A chatter box. Learns quickly, he's like a little sponge lately. Loves running and being active = one tired little boy...bonus!

The Bad...
Loves to push farts out. Has now copied Daddy's words from Family Guy saying, "Gentlemen, that was a fart!" And that happens every time he farts, and yes he has done it in public. Has farted and said, "Ahhh, I feel so much better." Doesn't care how messy he gets, will roll around in mud if I let him. It's amazing the fascination farts brings to boys and men. Lastly...this is only going to multiply in a couple of years. So my life is going to be silly and smelly!

To all my multiple boy moms out there, I applaud you! We can get manicures and pedicures in piece when they are teenagers! Bliss...

Water Boy . . .

To say Will loves the water is an understatement. Ever since he was born he has always loved baths and it still continues to this day.

When we went to Florida in April, he would jump in the ocean with no fear chasing after Daddy as he went out fishing. He went under a couple times but would pop back up and just smile. My little water boy he is!

We decided this summer we would join the local pool because of this and it would give Will a good place for socializing as well. In the back of my head, I am thinking that Will is going to follow in my foot steps of summers at the pool and joining the swim team. But, for now my dreams can wait and I am just letting my little bubsy enjoy the pool with new friends. We actually got lucky and a couple of his preschool friends have joined as well.

Because we have a little water boy/dare devil on our hands we decided it would be best to get him some swim lessons. There is a local place that holds classes and continues throughout the year which is what I would prefer for him to have. I must say, Will did AMAZING! He was the first to try everything out. Wanted to continue to do it even if the instructor wasn't helping him out. He was also very encouraging to the other 3 children in the class. Telling them "good job, you can do it!" Such a team player. I have to say his one down fall is that he is not the best listener. He would go off on his own to try something the instructor would show them and would not sit with the others.

My thought is that we will let him finish out the class and hopefully get him a round of private lessons and then back to the class format. Although, the class teaches him to listen and patience, I don't want to hold him back from something he enjoys and keeps him safe.

My sweet bubsy can't wait to get into the water! Totally melts my heart. And yes, I am starting to have the thought of, "can I love another one, as much as I love Will."

Did you use Pull Ups ?

In the midst of potty training Will and using night time diapers, I was contacted by deiworldwide who represents Safeway's mom to mom brand of diapers and kiddie ups. Although the night time pull up I was using was working, I was willing to try these out because I am an avid Safeway shopper and have seen this product many a times.

Things that I love about this product:

  • Extremely light weight compared to most pull ups.

  • Kid friendly design with, a pirate starfish and his gang. Will loved this!

  • Stars on the outside that change color to let you know if your little one had any accidents.

  • Clearly able to tell front and back on these kiddie ups which is important to Lew!

  • Easy open sides that actually close again!

  • While they are hypoallergenic and have vitamin E for sensitive little ones skin, Will's eczema did pop up.

Things that I did not love about this product:

  • As mentioned above, Will did have a breakout of eczema even after the first night of wearing them. Granted they are Kiddie ups that are most likely worn through out the day and taken off after a couple hours. Will wore his over night. Will also has extremely sensitive skin and certain materials do make his eczema pop out.

  • The first night Will wore them, I found them on the ground. When I asked him the next morning why he took them off, he said they hurt his boo boo. His eczema. So, even after a short time of wearing them, he took them off.

  • The fit is a bit awkward. Fully covers the front for accidents but when Will bent over he definitely had the plumbers crack going for him.

Overall they are great Kiddie Ups/pull ups. Light weight and just as good as the name brands that you probably buy. They are definitely worth trying out, because you will save yourself some money. As we all know, training pants are not cheap! If your child does have sensitive skin, it is still worth a try because you are not spending as much as you normally do. Will we continue to use these, probably not only because Will's eczema only gets worse when continually irritated. I will definitely try the mom to mom brand diapers out when #2 comes along, as I do love their other products. Which include lotions, wipes and bath products.

To get more information on mom to mom products at Safeway check out there site. You will love the natural products. Thank you to deiworldwide and Safeway for letting me try out the Kiddie Ups, I will still continue to use a lot of these products just not the training pants for Will.

I was given 2- $25 Safeway gift cards from deiworldwide for doing my review of mom to mom Kiddie ups as well as a package of Kiddie ups. Thanks to you both!

Need some advice . . .

Now that we know the sex of our bubsy x 2, we have started the name search. I always knew that if I had another boy, the middle name would be Robert after my Pape. Which he greatly appreciates and he is already putting it to good use by calling the baby Bob. Lucky us. Lew is not one to open up the baby book and look through the thousands of names, neither am I, but someone has to do it. I have narrowed it down to 7 names and Lew numbered them in the order in which he liked them.

But now, I need your help. Which names do you like? Which ones sound like they would work well for not only a child but a grown man? How is it that naming your child has become so difficult!?

So, here they are, in no particular order of likeness . . .

Hunter Robert
Tyler Robert
Sheldon Robert
Benjamin Robert
Elias Robert
Aiden Robert
Preston Robert
Kellen Robert

I will not be hurt if you do not like some of the names because every one's taste is so different. I am just trying to get an idea which name more gravitate too. Thanks everyone!

Rockin' The Bump !

I decided to join in with Shell and her many other blog readers for Rockin' The Bump. Time to show off some baby bump pictures! I have to admit, so far I really haven't taken many pics of #2 because I have been sick and felt like crap. But, I do have some of when I was pregnant with Will. Enjoy! If you want to show off your baby bump, head on over to Shell's place and link up. Plus, you can meet and read some pretty cool blogs.

I think I was about 5 or 6 months with Will.

Right before my baby shower at work, my BIL taking a belly shot with me... Hilarious! He actually has lost quite a bit of weight since then, so that's good!

Hope to put up some more belly shots of #2 in the coming months. Now go link up if you haven't already!

but it was only a dream . . .

I fell asleep that night having a very heavy heart, missing my mama. Being pregnant with my second baby, all I have ever wanted was my mom close to me, telling me you are doing a wonderful job. But she's not here.

My pregnancies, for me can sometimes be lonely and a longing for my mom to be here. And that's just not possible for me. She was taken to Heaven almost a decade ago.

So that night, is not like any others, where she is on my mind. I had read a blog post about someone having ghostly encounters and wishing that I could have one with my mom. I wouldn't be scared because I would get to see her, just one more time.

.....We were sitting on my living room couch, next to each other. Will was sitting on my lap and we were looking at each other like no time had ever passed. Like she was on some long, extended vacation. She reached out her arms to Will, he looked up at me, then at her and opened his arms to her too. The smile on her face was huge and loving. Tears welled in both our eyes. She held him so close to her, taking him in. Then she finally spoke, and all she said was, "It's wonderful to finally meet you Will, I've missed you so much!"

And then it was over. I got to see her. I hope that it was real, I hope that in Will's sleep that night, he got to meet the grandma that loves him to pieces. Because I know she would.

You never know when you will lose a loved one and it will change your life forever. There will be a hole in your heart forever for that person and it will be okay, one day. But having moments like that, make you believe that they are okay. That they are well and happy. That they are building our house in Heaven and we will all be together one day. Still to this day and everyday I will say, CANCER SUCKS!

*To Patrice and your family, may peace be with you in this time. Anna is now healed.

We are having . . .

We found out this morning that we are going to have another little guy in our family! His ultrasound pictures actually look a lot like Will's, although Will thought he looked like a frog. Not sure where he got that one. But we are calling it Froggy now until we decide on a name, which is always a fun debate.

He looks healthy and absolutely comfortable in there, he was so tucked in, it was hard to get a measurement of his head. Lew is over the moon because now he has a Chicago Cub and a Chicago Bear!

We are all very excited about welcoming this little Froggy into our world in October!

Daddy and Will . . .

Recently, Will and Daddy went to visit Thomas at the B & O Railroad in Baltimore. They had a great day spending some quality time together. It was a little nerve racking for me because Will was in his first week of big boy underoos, but he didn't have one accident!

They had a wonderful time and I think this will be an annual Will and Daddy trip, if Will is still into trains in the coming years. They have so much for them to do there besides seeing Thomas, so hoping he will like to go next year.

In other news, had a great 18 week check up, baby 2 sounds great! We go on Monday for the anatomy ultrasound and to find out the sex, I cannot WAIT! I am thinking girl only because I have been so tired, continue to have breakouts, smells still get to me and I didn't have any of that with Will. Lew wants another boy because he knows how to take care of one. Either way, I can't wait to see a healthy baby on Monday!
